Daniel Elbaum
Executive Director, IDF Widows and Orphans USA
Daniel Elbaum is the inaugural Executive Director of IDF Widows & Orphans USA (IDFWO-USA), where he leads the organization’s efforts to build awareness, deepen partnerships, and mobilize philanthropic support for the spouses and children of fallen IDF soldiers and members of Israel’s security services.
Dan is responsible for establishing IDFWO-USA’s presence in the United States at a moment of profound and growing need following the events of October 7 and the ongoing war in Israel. Under his leadership, the organization works to ensure that no widow or orphan walks their journey alone, advancing programs that provide emotional care, financial assistance, mentorship, and long-term pathways to stability and growth.
Prior to this role, Dan held senior leadership positions at The Jewish Agency for Israel, the American Jewish Committee, and the Anti-Defamation League. He is a frequent speaker and writer on issues of Jewish identity, peoplehood, and communal responsibility, with work published in eJewishPhilanthropy, The Times of Israel, and The Jerusalem Post.
