About Us

We support the IDF Widows and Orphans.

We are a U.S.-based fundraising organization dedicated to supporting the IDF Widows & Orphans Organization (IDFWO) in Israel. We work to raise awareness and funds among American donors to provide financial, emotional, and social support to the families of Israeli soldiers who have lost their lives in service. Through events, campaigns, and partnerships, we help ensure that widows and orphans receive the assistance they need to rebuild their lives and honor the legacy of their loved ones.

About the IDF Widows & Orphans Organization (IDFWO)

Established in 1991, the IDFWO is the exclusive representative body dedicated to supporting the welfare and well-being of widows, widowers, and orphans of Israel’s fallen—those who gave their lives while serving in the IDF and Israel’s security forces, including the Police, Shin Bet, Mossad, Prison Service, and Readiness Classes.

Operating under the Families of Soldiers Who Died in Action Law (1950), the organization is committed to strengthening and empowering bereaved families—those who have paid the highest price of all. In one tragic moment, their world was forever changed, and the IDFWO walks with them through every stage of their lives.

What We Do
IDFWO provides ongoing support, assistance, and guidance to thousands of bereaved widows, widowers, and orphans from the War of Independence to today. This deep commitment is reflected in a wide range of services, always personalized to the needs of each family.

Services include:

  • Financial support, scholarships, and grants

  • Personalized assistance and aid

  • Group vacations, retreats, and community events

  • Educational courses, seminars, and workshops

  • Camps and youth programs for children

  • Counseling, mentorship, and guidance

All services are delivered with compassion, dignity, and a genuine understanding of each family's unique journey.

Advocacy and Representation
Beyond direct support, the IDFWO also plays a critical role in the public and governmental arenas. It represents bereaved families before state institutions, advocates for improvements in policy, and works to pass legislation that advances the rights and well-being of widows, widowers, and orphans.

Organizational Structure
IDFWO operates as a democratic body. Elections are held every four years, during which a General Assembly of around 50 members is chosen by the wider membership. From this group, the Executive Committee is elected, led by the Chairwoman.

The Executive Committee oversees the organization’s direction, identifies evolving needs, submits proposals to the Ministry of Defense, and works within the government and the Knesset to ensure bereaved families receive the recognition, resources, and care they deserve.
